Bolivian road: you take the risk?
This is a road in Bolivian mountain. It is easy to see the danger but maybe the truck drivers doesn’t care about their life or most probably they don’t has any other chance to earn some money.
Rólegir að segja að þetta sé eins og á austfjörðum.. skulið að prófa að hjóla þennann veg.. skal lofa ykkur að þið þorið ekki að líta niður.... ég gerði það og síðan byrjaði ég að hjóla aftur en það var scary.... venjulega fer ein rúta á mánuði útaf þessum vegi...

Was the person that posted that a retard.. cause the end doesn't really make too much sence

Who ever wrote that needs serious help. Bolivia is a third world country, and that road is the only way to get to other places. I know this because I was born there, but grew up in the states. This person should get their fucking facts straight.
But yeah. Scary. When people pass, they change lanes so the driver is on the edge of the road, so they make sure their tires don't go over the edge, and that there's enough room to pass.
djöfull getur sumt fólk verið heimskt. "Er þetta ekki svipað og á austfjörðum" Er ekki betra að fólk ferðist út fyrir elliðár áður en það kemur með svona comment. Helv. Reykjarvíkurpakk
ég mundi segja að þetta sé landshlutarígur :) sem við austfirðingar eigum svo mikið af eins og væntanlega flest sveitafélög... en það er samt staðreynd að það er ekki einn einasti vegur svona á austfjörðum... kannski frekar á suð-austurlandi þar sem skriðurnar eru :)
This is the road from La Paz to Coroico. I've biked down hill for 70 Km to the end. Belive me most the scary part is coming back overnight on a bus driven by a drunk man... Along that way you can see 100s or marks where people... made mistakes!
I lived in Bolivia for 2 years and only took 2 roads like those ones, but let me tell ya, it is scary! I went in the middle of the night and I couldn't sleep the entire time because looking over the edge all I could see were clouds and a seemingly endless abyss. But it's the only way to travel besides flying, which isn't always a possibility.
This is the North Yungas Road. Like the biker said, it goes from North La Paz to Coroico. The new highway (much safer) is almost built, but the truckers prefer the old road. There is a river accessible by the old road, where they can cool off their overheated engines. These trucks sometimes carry 30 workers or so, which is the reason for the high mortality rate of about 200 a year. More info here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yungas_Road

Ég get ekki leynt brosi eftir hvernig þessar samræður hafa þróast.
